Jim has more than twenty-five years of experience, which includes leadership roles with EY, The Campbell Soup Company, and MBNA America (Bank of America).  He also founded InTune Business Advisors LLC fourteen years ago to help clients protect, grow, and sell their businesses.  Jim’s particular areas of expertise lie in capital acquisition, exit planning, growth strategies, risk management, and forensic accounting.

As a CPA, Jim addresses complex corporate finance issues, performs due diligence and business valuations, and advises clients on buying and selling their businesses and on strategic opportunities (e.g., vendor acquisitions, make vs. buy, product development, etc.).

As a CFE, Jim advises clients on fraud prevention, cyber security, and other risk management and compliance issues (e.g., SOX, FCPA, OIG Safe Harbors, etc.).  He has performed fraud examinations involving real estate, payroll, and other schemes.  Jim has worked with the FBI, served as a Receivership Accountant, and has testified as an expert witness. He continues to address diverse audiences on fraud and compliance topics.

As a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Jim has particular expertise in blending process improvements with compliance requirements for efficient risk management.

A graduate of John Carroll University and The University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, Jim is an active member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber of Commerce.  He serves on the audit committee of North Hills Community Outreach, an interfaith nonprofit organization.  Jim can be reached at 412-400-7548 or jaloeffler@getintune.com.
